Should any item fail to meet your expectations, simply return it within 30 days in a new and unused condition with the original label attached to the product and we will gladly exchange or refund your item for the merchandise price. Shipping costs are non-refundable and return shipping fees are the responsibility of the customer. Australian Opal Direct is not responsible for lost or stolen returned parcels while they are in transit. As such, it is strongly recommended that customers insure their parcel for the value of the goods contained prior to dispatch as well as require a signature upon delivery to confirm that Australian Opal Direct is in physical possession of the goods.
All returns must be approved by Australian Opal Direct. Before shipping back your return, please send us an email at [email protected] and let us know which item you are returning. We will respond with an approval letter which should be included in your return package. Please be sure to provide us with the tracking number when the parcel ships so that we can monitor while in transit. Please ensure that the instructions listed in the return confirmation email are followed as incorrect and/or incomplete return shipping addresses will not be insured by the claims underwriter.

All Jewelry and Stones featured on our website comes with a 30-day money back guarantee. If, for any reason, you are not fully satisfied with your Opal, you may return it in it’s original condition with the original label intact within thirty days from that date that the item is received in the post for a full refund (shipping charges including return shipping fees are non refundable). The item must be returned in the condition in which it was received - unworn, unused, with the barcode label still attached and in its original packaging. We will refund your order upon receival of the item. If the Opal Jewellery item does not have the original tags attached, a store credit (exclusive of the original shipping fee) will be issued.
Refunds include any US taxes originally paid on the item being returned. It can take up to two billing cycles for refunds to appear on printed credit card statements, although you should be able to verify the credit within 72 business hours from the date the return is processed. We do not refund duties/taxes from other countries, as we do not collect them. Those would be refunded by the appropriate Customs office in your country.
If the goods you receive have been damaged in transit, are an incorrect item, or are faulty, please contact us by email to [email protected] immediately on the day of receipt and it will be repaired or replaced at no cost. Claims must be made within 7 days of receipt. If the package is damaged on arrival, you may be asked to return the goods with its original packaging.

Proper care and maintenance will preserve the beauty and shine. This warranty does not cover mis-use, scratching or cracking of the gemstone, dropping or hitting of the gemstone, damages caused by heat, salt water, cold, extreme temperatures in general, chemical substances of any kind (including nail polish, nail polish removers, bleach, cleaning solutions, etc.) or any mishandling done to the Opal Gemstone or it’s surrounding setting. As any metals (including Gold Plating and Silver) can oxidise and/or tarnish over time, please be sure to visit our Care and Handling page to learn more about how you can protect your Jewellery. Australian Opal Direct is not responsible for normal wear and tear. All sale merchandise is final sale.
Due to impacts of the COVID-19 global pandemic, there may be intermittent delays with estimated delivery dates. In light of these unprecedented times and associated postal delays, as mandated from our postal insurance provider, a refund for a non received parcel due to shipping delays will be issued only after a case has been created and 40 days have passed from the shipping date. This time frame is required and allows for the official confirmation of a parcels status. If your parcel has not been delivered, we respectfully request that you wait 40 days from the shipping date to request that a claim be filed and refund issued. CUSTOM ORDERS INCLUDING RESIZED OPAL RINGS:
Custom orders are hard costs. As such, all Opal Jewellery which has been custom created, resized and/or adjusted per customer specifications cannot be refunded, exchanged or adjusted after an order has been paid for and processed. All custom order sales are final and payments in full must be made prior to the start of production. Australian Opal Direct reserves the rights to all custom created jewellery pieces including designs, sketches (digital and / or print) samples, molds and castings created to design and/or manufacture products and can be used at will. Opal Jewellery that is designed and created by Australian Opal Direct cannot be reproduced or manufactured by the customer without prior written consent. All custom designs created by Australian Opal Direct are not owned by the purchaser of the jewellery. While each Opal Gemstone is one of a kind and each custom piece of jewellery is made for the customer, the original jewellery design is protected by Copyright laws as a visual art by Australian Opal Direct and can be used at will.
TAXES & FEES
Any additional fees incurred by a banking institution (outside of the order total) is the sole responsibility of the customer.
